Description
Engineering work is taking place between Dewsbury and Huddersfield, closing some lines. Background information on this major project can be found below.
Grand Central:
Trains will be unable to call at Brighouse or Mirfield. Replacement buses will run between these stations and Wakefield Kirkgate to connect with diverted train services. In addition to this, changes may also be made to the route used and other station calls, so please check your journey before you travel.
Northern:
Trains between Leeds and Manchester Victoria via Dewsbury will be diverted via Bradford Interchange and Halifax, and will not call at Cottingley, Morley, Batley, Dewsbury, Mirfield and Brighouse.
Trains will not run between Leeds and Bradford Interchange via Dewsbury and also between Leeds and York via Garforth.
Buses will run between Halifax and Dewsbury and you can use TransPennine Express services to complete your journey.

Trains will run between:
Newcastle and Leeds
Redcar Central and Dewsbury
Hull and Dewsbury
Scarborough and York
York and Leeds / Wakefield Kirkgate
Huddersfield and Manchester. Also Liverpool Lime Street (except Sunday)
Buses will run between Leeds / Dewsbury / Wakefield Kirkgate and Huddersfield to connect with the trains.
Background Information:
This work is part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) project. The TRU is a transformative, multi-billion pound railway programme that will better connect passengers in the North between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and York. TRU will transform the Transpennine main line into a high-performing, reliable railway, bringing more frequent, more reliable, faster, greener trains.
During the Easter weekend, major improvement works will take place which will include track renewal and signal testing along the line.
