Background information:
The railway infrastructure in the Oxford station area is near full capacity. It currently can’t support the start of East West Rail services. As a result, the station is being expanded and the area upgraded, benefiting passengers and residents alike.
CrossCountry advise that Network Rail will be carrying out major engineering work at Oxford station as part of this project from Sunday 1 to Sunday 8 February. The work will involve installing a replacement railway bridge over Botley Road as part of the development plans for Oxford station. The bridge will enable an additional line to serve a new Platform 5, which is currently under construction as part of the Oxford expansion.
