Description

Engineering work is taking place between London Kings Cross and Hitchin / St Neots, closing some lines.

Please be aware that due to major disruption between London St Pancras International and Bedford some alternative train services to or from London St Pancras International may be delayed or cancelled.

As a result of this, the following alterations will apply:

Grand Central:

All Grand Central services will be cancelled on Saturday and Sunday.

Great Northern / Thameslink:

Saturday and Sunday:

No trains will run between Potters Bar and St Neots / Royston.

Additionally, no trains will run between Hertford North and Stevenage.

Thameslink trains to / from London St Pancras International via Finsbury Park will also be affected.

Replacement buses will run between:

• Potters Bar and Hitchin.

• Hitchin and St Neots.

• St Neots and Bedford.

• Hitchin and St Albans.

• Stevenage and Luton Airport Parkway.

• Hitchin and Royston.

• Hertford North and Stevenage.

Change at Bedford / St Albans / Luton Airport Parkway for alternative Thameslink services to / from London St Pancras International.

Ticket acceptance:

You can use your ticket with:

• Greater Anglia between Cambridge / Hertford East and London Liverpool Street.

• Thameslink between Bedford and London St Pancras International.

• Elizabeth line between Farringdon and London Liverpool Street.

• London Underground between London Kings Cross / St Pancras and London Liverpool Street.

Sunday:

Before 10:45 and after 23:00, no trains will run between London Kings Cross / Moorgate and Potters Bar / Hertford North. 

Replacement buses will run between Finsbury Park and Potters Bar / Hertford North. 

For travel between London Kings Cross / Moorgate and Finsbury Park, you can use London Buses route 271 / London Underground services.

Hull Trains:

All services will be diverted to start / terminate at London St Pancras International instead of London Kings Cross. 

A reduced service will operate and services will not call at Stevenage, Grantham, Retford, Cottingham or Beverley.

LNER:

2 trains per hour will run to / from St Neots instead of London Kings Cross.

Rail replacement buses will run between St Neots and Bedford for you to connect with train services between Bedford and London St Pancras International.

All other services will either run to / from Peterborough or be cancelled.

Due to the overhead line issues at St Albans, LNER have also arranged for customers to travel via the West Coast

• Avanti West Coast from Euston to Carlisle, and from Carlisle to Edinburgh

• TransPennine between Carlisle and Edinburgh

Lumo:

Saturday:

• The 05:36 and 08:56 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross services will only operate between Edinburgh and Newcastle.

• The 05:45 and 10:25 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh services will only run between Newcastle and Edinburgh.

• The 12:18 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh service will be cancelled.

• The 12:56 and 15:25 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross services will terminate at Peterborough where they will connect with a rail replacement bus service that will operate to London Kings Cross.

• The 15:45 and 18:27 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh services will start from Peterborough. A rail replacement bus will run from London Kings Cross to Peterborough to connect with these services.

• The 17:55 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross service will be cancelled.

Sunday: 

• The 08:52, 10:23 and 19:24 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh services will only run between Newcastle and Edinburgh. 

• The 10:53 and 15:49 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross services will only operate between Edinburgh and Newcastle.

• The 12:13 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh service will be cancelled.

• The 13:55 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross service will terminate at Peterborough where it will then connect with a rail replacement bus onto London Kings Cross.

• The 18:53 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross service will be cancelled.

• The 16:24 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh service will start from Peterborough. There will be a rail replacement bus operating from London Kings Cross to Peterborough.
