Description

Engineering work is taking place between Newport (South Wales) and Cardiff Central, closing various lines from Monday to Friday evening, and all lines after 23:00 on Friday.

Monday to Friday:

Some CrossCountry trains between Nottingham and Cardiff Central will be retimed by a few minutes between Newport and Cardiff Central.

Great Western Railway:

Monday to Thursday, and Friday before 23:00:

Trains running between Newport (South Wales) and Cardiff Central will run to an amended timetable, with trains running a few minutes earlier or later than usual.

Friday after 23:00:

• The 19:23 Portsmouth Harbour to Cardiff Central service will terminate at Newport (South Wales). You can use alternative rail connections between Newport (South Wales) and Cardiff Central

• The 20:24 Portsmouth Harbour to Cardiff Central service will terminate at Newport (South Wales) for a replacement bus from Newport (South Wales) to Cardiff Central

• The 20:24 Exmouth to Cardiff Central service will terminate at Newport (South Wales) for a replacement bus from Newport (South Wales) to Cardiff Central

• The 21:48 London Paddington to Swansea will terminate at Newport (South Wales) for a replacement bus from Newport (South Wales) to Cardiff Central. You can use alternative rail connections between Cardiff Central and Swansea

• The 22:49 London Paddington to Swansea will terminate at Newport (South Wales) for a replacement bus from Newport to Cardiff Central. You can use alternative rail connections between Cardiff Central and Swansea

• The 23:30 Cardiff Central to Bristol Temple Meads service will start from Newport (South Wales) . Earlier road transport will run from Cardiff Central to Newport (South Wales) (operated by Transport for Wales) to connect with the train

Monday to Thursday, and Friday before 23:00:

Transport for Wales services are unaffected by the engineering work taking place, and will run normally.

Friday after 23:00:

• The 20:07 Maesteg to Ebbw Vale Town will terminate at Cardiff Central, and a replacement bus will run between Cardiff Central and Ebbw Vale Town

• The 22:09 Maesteg to Ebbw Vale Town service will terminate at Cardiff Central, and a replacement bus will run between Cardiff Central and Ebbw Vale Town

• The 22:09 Ebbw Vale Town to Cardiff Central will not run, and a replacement bus will run from Ebbw Vale Town to Cardiff Central

• The 23:13 Cardiff Central to Abergavenny will not run, and will be replaced by a bus

• The 23:47 Cardiff Central to Gloucester will not run, and will be replaced by a bus
