Description

Engineering work is taking place at Swansea, closing all lines.

Great Western Railway:

Monday 26 January to Thursday 5 February:

Rail replacement buses will operate between Port Talbot Parkway and Swansea, calling at Neath. Some buses will operate to / from Llanelli.

Most trains between London Paddington and Swansea / Carmarthen will run between London Paddington and Port Talbot Parkway only.

Friday 6 February:

As a result of trains being out of place due to the engineering work, the following trains will be amended:

The following trains will not run:

  • 03:46 Swansea to London Paddington

  • 06:54 Swansea to London Paddington

  • 07:44 Swansea to London Paddington

  • 08:18 London Paddington to Cardiff Central

  • 10:16 London Paddington to Cardiff Central

  • 10:50 Cardiff Central to London Paddington

  • 11:16 London Paddington to Cardiff Central

  • 12:50 Cardiff Central to London Paddington

  • 13:50 Cardiff Central to London Paddington

Additionally, the 05:57 Swansea to London Paddington service will start from Cardiff Central at 06:51.

Transport for Wales:

Monday 26 January to Thursday 5 February:

Rail replacement buses will operate between Port Talbot Parkway and Llanelli.

A limited service will operate between Cardiff Central and Carmarthen via Llangennech in the mornings and late evenings.

Most trains between Manchester Piccadilly / Cardiff Central and Swansea / Carmarthen will run between Manchester Piccadilly / Cardiff Central and Port Talbot Parkway only.

Two trains per hour will operate from Llanelli to Carmarthen / Pembroke Dock / Milford Haven / Fishguard Harbour.

Services between Shrewsbury and Swansea via Llandrindod will be diverted to run via Carmarthen.

Please note that on Tuesday 27 January, northbound Heart of Wales services will be further amended due to additional engineering works near Llanelli.

Monday 26 to Friday 30 January:

The 05:13 Swansea to Llandovery and 06:41 Llandovery to Swansea train services will not run, and will be replaced by buses.

Gowerton:

For travel to / from Gowerton, half-hourly rail replacement buses will be in operation between Swansea and Llanelli via Gowerton each day. This is due to a low bridge that prevents rail replacement coaches from serving the station. If you are travelling from Gowerton towards Swansea and then onto further destinations, you should change between rail replacement buses at Swansea to complete your journey.

Friday 6 February:

Transport for Wales are unaffected by any work on this date.
