Buses replace Great Western Railway trains between Weston-super-Mare and Taunton: an amended CrossCountry service via Taunton from Monday 3 to Friday 7 February

Description

Engineering work is taking place between Weston-super-Mare and Taunton, essential track maintenance work in the Bridgwater area, closing all lines for 5 days.

CrossCountry

CrossCountry trains will be diverted via an alternative route between Bristol Temple Meads and Taunton extending journey times by up to an hour.

As a result of the diversion, CrossCountry services cannot call at Weston-super-Mare. You can use Great Western Railway trains to travel between Bristol Temple Meads and Weston-super-Mare, and replacement buses to travel between Weston-super-Mare and Taunton.

There will be no CrossCountry services serving Torquay and Paignton, you can use Great Western Railway services to and from these stations.

Great Western Railway

Buses will replace trains between Weston-super-Mare and Taunton.

Trains will still run between London Paddington and Weston-super-Mare via Bristol Temple Meads, and between London Paddington and Taunton via Castle Cary.

Train services will also run between Cardiff Central and Weston-super-Mare, and between Taunton and Exeter St Davids, Plymouth or Penzance.

Additionally, the following services are affected:

• The 05:22 Bristol Temple Meads to Penzance will depart earlier than usual at 04:48 and will divert between Bristol Temple Meads and Taunton via Westbury

• The 06:00 London Paddington to Penzance service will start from Bristol Temple Meads earlier than usual at 07:04. This service will divert between Bristol Temple Meads and Taunton via Bath Spa and Westbury, and will call additionally at Bath Spa and will not call at Bridgwater. A separate train service will run from London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads

• From Monday to Thursday only, the 20:30 London Paddington to Weston-super-Mare will terminate at Bristol Temple Meads. A replacement bus service will run between Bristol Temple Meads and Weston-super-Mare

• The 17:50 Penzance to London Paddington service will divert between Taunton and Chippenham via Westbury, calling additionally at Westbury and not calling at Bristol Temple Meads or Bath Spa. A separate train service will run between Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa
