Great Northern and Thameslink services between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage

Description

A failure of the electricity supply between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage via Hertford North means Great Northern and Thameslink services between these stations are being disrupted.

As a result, trains will be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

DO NOT TRAVEL.

It is strongly advised that if you do not need to travel now then please delay until later on today. If you have to travel now as a matter of urgency then please allow an additional 90 minutes to complete your journey.

There is a failure of electricity supply in the in the Alexandra Palace area which means Great Northern services that run between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage via Hertford North are unable to run.

The following stations will have no service until further notice:

  • Bowes Park

  • Palmers Green

  • Winchmore Hill

  • Grange Park

  • Enfield Chase

  • Gordon Hill

  • Crews Hill

  • Cuffley

  • Bayford

  • Hertford North

  • Watton-at-Stone

A limited rail replacement has been requested to run between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage, but these have not yet arrived at their locations. Please speak to station staff for more information.

Trains are also unable to run between Finsbury Park towards Moorgate. The following stations will have no service until further notice:

  • Moorgate

  • Old Street

  • Essex Road

  • Drayton Park

There is a very limited service between Peterborough and Hitchin where the following stations may not have a service:

  • Peteborough

  • Huntington

  • St Neots

  • Sandy

  • Arlesey


Alexandra Palace also has a very limited service with only an hourly service towards London Kings Cross.

Service amendments:

Thameslink and Great Northern Services:

  • Three Bridges to Bedford have been suspended

  • Peterborough to Horsham services will be split and will look to run a Peterborough to London Kings Cross service on the North and a Horsham to Redhill service on the South

  • Bedford to Brighton will run as booked

  • Cambridge to Brighton have been suspended

  • Hitchin to London Kings Cross will run as booked

  • Welwyn Garden City to Moorgate services are suspended

  • Moorgate to Stevenage services are suspended


Ticket Acceptance:

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following alternatives:

  • Great Western Railway services between Redhill and Reigate

  • Southern and Thameslink services on any reasonable route

  • Greater Anglia services between London Liverpool Street and Cambridge

  • LNER services between London Kings Cross and Peterborough in both directions

  • London buses across London via any reasonable and up to Crews Hill

  • London Underground on any reasonable route

  • London Overground between Enfield Town and Liverpool Street

  • Metrobus 200 between Horsham and Gatwick
