Description

Following a safety inspection of the track between Leamington Spa and Banbury all lines have reopened. As service recovers, trains may still be cancelled or delayed by up to 30 minutes.

Disruption is expected until 11:00.

There are a number of different options available to help you complete your journey. Please check your whole journey using the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner as some of the alternative routes listed below that you can use your ticket on may also be affected by this disruption.

Customer advice for CrossCountry:

If you're travelling between Manchester / Birmingham and Reading / Southampton / Bournemouth via London, you can use your ticket at no extra cost on:

  • Avanti West Coast services between Manchester Piccadilly / Birmingham New Street and London Euston

  • Chiltern Railways services between Birmingham Moor Street and Leamington Spa / Banbury and Oxford via Haddenham & Thame Parkway / London Marylebone

  • London Underground services between London Terminals. Please show your ticket to gateline staff on the Underground to be allowed through the ticket gates.

  • GWR services between London Paddington and Reading / Oxford / Bristol Temple Meads / Bristol Parkway

  • South Western Railway services between London Waterloo and Bournemouth

  • West Midlands Railway services between Birmingham New Street and Coventry / Coventry and Leamington Spa

If you're travelling between Birmingham and Reading via Oxford, you can use your ticket at no extra cost on:

  • You can travel using CrossCountry services between Birmingham New Street and Worcestershire Parkway

  • You can travel using GWR services between Worcestershire Parkway and Reading



Road Transport:

CrossCountry are looking to resource rail replacement road transport between Leamington Spa, Banbury and Oxford.

You may also use your ticket on the following operators at no extra cost:

  • GWR services between Banbury – Didcot Parkway - Reading and Basingstoke

  • West Midlands Railway services between Coventry and Leamington Spa

You do not need to amend your ticket to use it on these services.

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost

Unfortunately, any seat reservations will not be carried over to another train, but Coach B, H and L are unreserved coaches on CrossCountry services (where available) so please head to them.
