Description
Lines have reopened following reports of flooding between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple.
The first services expected to operate are:
12:14 from Exeter Central to Barnstaple
12:35 from Barnstaple to Exeter Central
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Trains between Exeter St Davids and Okehampton are not affected by this disruption.
Customer advice:
Great Western Railway have a very limited rail replacement in place. This is running, in both directions, between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple, running via Crediton, Copplestone, Morchard Road, Eggesford and Umberleigh.
Great Western Railway are not able to provide exact departure times for the coaches, they will try and mirror train departure times from Barnstaple and from Exeter St Davids as closely as possible with the coaches available, but you may have a wait of an hour for a coach.
Please note that bicycles and pets cannot be carried on rail replacement services.
Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on the following Stagecoach South West routes:
5 between Exeter Central (New North Rd), Newton St Cyres (Belluno) and Crediton (Station Cross)
5A between Exeter (Bus Station), Newton St Cyres (Belluno), Crediton and Copplestone
5B between Exeter (St Davids station, stop B), Crediton (directly opposite train station), Copplestone (a short distance, approximately 10 minutes by foot, from the train station), Morchard Road (a short distance, approximately 5 minutes by foot, from the train station) and Barnstaple (directly opposite the train station)
5C between Exeter (Bus Station), Newton St Cyres (Belluno), Crediton, Copplestone, Morchard Road and Lapford
Additional information:
Network Rail's remote monitoring equipment had detected water levels exceeding the threshold for closure at two bridges. The water levels have been monitored and the line has been reopened.
