Description

There is a failure of the electricity supply between Beccles and Lowestoft, meaning that all lines are blocked.

As a result, trains are currently unable to run between these stations and will be cancelled.

This is expected to cause disruption until 22:00.

Customer advice:

We have been made aware of a UK Power Networks (UKPN) supply problem in the Beccles area, which is disrupting the signalling system between Beccles and Lowestoft.

Network Rail response teams are en route to investigate, but current UKPN estimates for power restoration is by 22:00.

Service impact:

Trains are unable to run between Beccles and Lowestoft.

While trains on our Lowestoft - Norwich route are not directly affected, there may be knock-on disruption to this route.

Alternative travel options:

Please be prepared for a delay to your journey. You may need to take a different train than originally planned.

Advance purchase tickets holders will be allowed to travel on earlier or later trains if their booked service is cancelled.

Ticket acceptance:

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on First Bus routes X2, X21 and X22 between Beccles and Lowestoft.

Rail replacement:

Accessible replacement buses, provided by Angies, will be running between Beccles and Lowestoft calling at Oulton Broad South from 18:40. Journey time is approximately 30 minutes.
