Between London Paddington and Penzance, and also between Reading / Bedwyn and Newbury

Description

Lines have reopened between Reading and Bedwyn following the emergency services dealing with an earlier incident between these stations.

As services recover, trains may still be cancelled or delayed by up to 25 minutes.

Disruption is expected until the end of service.

Customer advice:

Rail replacement transport has been organised to run between the following:

  • Newbury – Kintbury – Hungerford – Bedwyn

  • Bedwyn – Hungerford – Kintbury – Reading

  • Kintbury – Newbury - Reading

Please note there are currently no estimated arrival times for these services.

Customers are advised to check the stations Onward Travel Information poster and wait for replacement road transport at the designated stop. Please be advised that replacement road transport may run later than the advertised train times owing to the additional time taken by road between stations and the time required for loading and unloading at each stop.

If your train is cancelled, you may travel on either of the two services before, or two services after, your original train. If these are peak services or less flexible, you can still travel with your original ticket, at no extra cost.

Check before you travel:

You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.

For helpful advice if you need to travel on a rail replacement service, including accessibility and bicycle information, please use our Rail Replacement Services page.

You can find the pick-up and drop-off location of rail replacement services by checking station signage or by searching for your station on our Find a Station page.

Please be advised that replacement vehicles may be busier than usual, and you should allow extra time for your journey.

Compensation:

You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
