Description

A fault with the barriers at a level crossing between Hastings and Eastbourne is causing disruption to trains running between these stations. As a result, trains may be delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

If you are travelling between Hastings and Eastbourne you can travel on your normal route, but you will need to allow at least an additional 15 minutes to complete your journey.

Please talk to station staff, look at the information boards or check your journey planner for the most recent information.

Southern were advised of a problem with the barriers at a level crossing near Normans Bay this will cause delays to your journey in this area.

Although there's a fault, Southern can still run your train, but it will take longer to get to your destination.

Trains will need to stop on the approach to the crossing, and drivers will then get verbal instructions to continue. They will travel at slower speeds so that they can see anything which may be obstructing them.
