Description

Lines have now reopened following a fault with the signalling system in the Stansted Airport area. However, whilst service recovers, trains running to / from Stansted Airport may still be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 25 minutes.

Disruption is expected until 11:30

CrossCountry customer advice:

A replacement bus service, provided by Greater Anglia will run between Bishops Stortford and Stansted Airport.

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on the following services:

  • The two CrossCountry services operating before and after your cancelled service

  • Greater Anglia between Bishops Stortford and Cambridge

  • Replacement bus services (provided by Greater Anglia) between Bishops Stortford and Stansted Airport

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost

Unfortunately, any seat reservations will not be carried over to another train, but Coach B, H and L are the unreserved coaches on CrossCountry services (where available) so please head to them.

Rail replacement:

An extremely limited accessible rail replacement bus service is running between Bishops Stortford / Stansted Airport and Audley End. Please note that e-scooters, electric and full size bicycles are not permitted on rail replacement vehicles.

Tickets will be accepted on the following routes at no extra cost:

  • Thameslink between Farringdon / London St Pancras International and Cambridge

  • Great Northern between London Kings Cross and Cambridge

  • London Underground between London Liverpool Street and London Kings Cross

  • Local bus service 305 between Bishops Stortford and Stansted Airport

  • Local bus service 333 between Bishops Stortford and Braintree, where onward Greater Anglia services can be connected with

Advance purchase tickets holders will be allowed to travel on earlier or later trains if their booked service is cancelled.
