Description

The Met Office are advising that heatwave conditions are forecast for parts of England and Wales with temperatures expected to remain high until at least Saturday 27 June.

The hot weather is set to be widespread over England and Wales, and highs of up to 38°C are possible in some areas. There are red and amber weather warnings in place for extreme heat covering parts of England and Wales until Thursday 25 June.

From Tuesday 23 to Thursday 25 June, Chiltern Railways will run an amended timetable and strongly advise to avoid travelling if possible. Trains are running at a greatly reduced levels to ensure everyone's safety, which means you may experience significant delays and very busy conditions.

Between Birmingham and London Marylebone

A reduced service will run with fewer than 50% of the normal service running, with very few services running north of Birmingham Moor Street.

Between Oxford and London Marylebone

A reduced service will run with fewer than 50% of the normal service running.

Between Aylesbury and London Marylebone (via Amersham)

A reduced service will run with fewer than 50% of the normal service running.

A normal service will run on the following routes:

  • Princes Risborough - Aylesbury

  • Leamington Spa - Stratford-upon-Avon

  • Leamington Spa - Birmingham Moor Street

Concert at Wembley Stadium on 23 June

On Tuesday evening, Chiltern Railways plan to run an enhanced service for those attending the sold-out concert taking place at Wembley Stadium, however the number of trains will be slightly fewer than were originally planned.
