Description
The Met Office are advising that temperatures today are expected to be above average for the time of year. Highs are forecast to exceed 30°C in London, and similarly high temperatures are likely across central and southern England. This hot weather is expected to continue through into the weekend.
You are advised to check your journey in full before you travel. The hot weather will increase the risk of Chiltern Railways services being disrupted. As the situation can change quickly, please be aware that disruption can occur without notice.
Check before you travel:
You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.
Advice if you are travelling today:
A reduced service will be in operation between London Marylebone and Aylesbury via Amersham this evening.
If you are travelling this evening between London, Harrow-on-the-Hill and stations to Amersham, you are advised to use London Underground Metropolitan line services. You can use your ticket on these services at no extra cost.
An amended timetable will be running this evening due to an event taking place at Wembley Stadium.
Please note, Chiltern Railway services operating in the West Midlands are expected to be very busy due to industrial action affecting London Northwestern Railway and West Midlands Railway services.
This will mean that Chiltern Railways will be the only operator running through Birmingham Moor Street. As a result, Birmingham Moor Street, Solihull and Dorridge stations are all expected to be particularly busy and queuing systems may be in place. You may have to wait to board a train, and may not be able to board your train of choice.
Compensation:
You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
