Description

A fault with the signalling system at Chertsey means that all lines are disrupted. As a result, trains running between Chertsey and Virginia Water may be delayed by up to 20 minutes, cancelled or revised.

Disruption is expected until 10:00.

Customer advice:

To assist you with your journey your ticket will be accepted, at no extra cost to yourself, on the following services until further notice:

  • Falcon Buses 456 between Staines - Chertsey - Addlestone - West Byfleet - Woking

  • Falcon Buses 461 between Chertsey - Addlestone - Weybridge - Walton-on-Thames - Hampton Court - Kingston

  • Falcon Buses 557 between Addlestone - Chertsey - Shepperton - Sunbury

  • Falcon Buses 456 between Addlestone - Byfleet & New Haw - West Byfleet - Woking

To help you complete your journey, South Western Railway have arranged replacement buses to run from Chertsey calling at Weybridge, Addlestone and Virginia Water in both directions. These should be in place from approximately 07:00, but buses are not running to a set timetable.

Because your journey has been heavily disrupted, you can book your own taxi and claim the cost back through the South Western Railway website. This applies to travel between any stations served by South Western Railway between Virginia Water and Weybridge in both directions. You will need to provide the following details to make a claim:

• Your full contact details

• The time and date of your journey

• The stations you travelled to and from

• A detailed description of the series of events that took place

• Copies of your train ticket/s and taxi receipt
