Trains through Clapham Junction

Description

Lines have now reopened following an obstruction on the track at Clapham Junction. However, whilst service recovers, trains running through the station may be delayed by up to 40 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 22:00.

Customer advice:

The line towards London Victoria has reopened. Services have been subject to delays of 20 minutes as a result of this issue. You should allow an additional 20 minutes to complete your journey.

It may be quicker to travel using an alternative route. Your ticket will be accepted on Thameslink and alternative Southern services to other London Terminals, such as London Bridge, at no additional cost. Your ticket will also be accepted at no additional cost on journeys between London stations.

As a result, it may be quicker to travel to / from a different London Terminal, such as London Bridge, using London Underground to complete your journey.

Planning your journey:

You can check your journey using the live departure boards, and you can view a live map of the network.

You can also see an alternative route guide.

If you're travelling in the London area, you can plan journeys on alternative routes by using the TfL Journey Planner.

The Southern app will also help you plan your journey.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

There has been a report of an obstruction on the railway, and this is now causing some disruption to services. Your train may be held on approach to the area, or it may need to be terminated before it gets to this part of the network. We're very sorry for the delay to your journey.

Network Rail staff will be attending to remove the obstruction as quickly as they can. Unfortunately, it's not possible to try to run trains past this.

Check before you travel:

You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.

Compensation:

You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
