Description

All lines have now reopened following an earlier trespass incident between Manchester Oxford Road and Deansgate. Trains running between these stations may continue to be delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 15:00.

You may use your ticket on the following services in both directions at no extra cost:

  • Avanti West Coast services between Preston and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh

  • Metrolink services between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport

  • Northern services on the following routes:

    • Between Hull, York, Leeds and Manchester Victoria

    • Between Manchester Piccadilly / Manchester Airport and Manchester Oxford Road

    • Between Manchester Oxford Road and Liverpool Lime Street

If you need to travel between the main stations in Manchester there are several alternative options available:

  • Bee Network Free Bus – this free service runs every 10 minutes, with stops conveniently located on the station approach at both Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria

  • Metrolink – regular tram services operate between Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly

  • Walking – it’s approximately a 20-minute walk between the two stations

TransPennine Express have relaxed some of their usual ticket restrictions. If you have a ticket which is usually valid on a specific train from Manchester Victoria, you may use it to travel on any TransPennine Express train from Manchester Piccadilly or Manchester Oxford Road.
