Description

Lines have reopened following a points failure between Sheffield and Stockport. Trains will be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 60 minutes.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Advice for East Midlands Railway customers:

There was a fault with the signalling system at Dore Station Jn this is between Sheffield and Stockport, and is disrupting our trains on the Liverpool / Manchester / Sheffield / Nottingham / Norwich route.

How do I get where I need to be?

You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed by up to 60 minutes.

East Midlands Railway have arranged for you to use your ticket at no extra cost with CrossCountry between Chesterfield and Leeds, with TransPennine Express between Leeds and Manchester Stations.

Customers travelling from Nottingham wanting to travel to Sheffield need to change at Chesterfield for East Midlands intercity services to Sheffield.

Customers travelling from Sheffield towards Manchester and Liverpool should use TransPennine Express services.

Customers at Chesterfield travelling towards Manchester and Liverpool need to use CrossCountry service and change at Leeds.

If you wish not travel today (11 July) due to the ongoing disruption, East Midlands Railway have have arranged for you to use your ticket tomorrow (12 July), at no extra cost.

Advice for Northern customers:

Services between Sheffield and Manchester Piccadilly are being disrupted due to a points failure in the Dore & Totley area.

Your ticket can be used, on East Midlands Railway and TransPennine Express services via any reasonable route, in order to complete your journey.

Customers at Sheffield and Manchester can also go via Leeds.

For customers on station platforms, please listen for announcements or consult Customer Information Screens for up-to-date train running information.

If the train you have a ticket for is cancelled, you can travel on any Northern, TransPennine Express or LNER service within 2 hours before or after your cancelled service was due to depart.
