Thameslink between Brighton / Haywards Heath / Three Bridges / East Grinstead and Bedford, between Brighton and Cambridge, between East Grinstead and London Bridge, and also between Horsham and Peterborough

Description

A safety inspection of the track between Gatwick Airport and East Croydon means some lines towards London are blocked. Trains running between these stations may be delayed by up to 15 minutes or diverted via Redhill.

Disruption is expected until 09:30.

Customer advice:

If you are travelling between Gatwick Airport and East Croydon, you can travel on your normal route but, please plan ahead and allow an extra 15 minutes to complete your journey.

Services that normally run on the non-stop line towards London are currently being diverted to run on the line via Redhill. Running via this alternative route will increase overall journey times between Gatwick Airport and London by approximately 15 minutes.

Changes to train services

While this incident is ongoing the following changes will apply train services:

  • Thameslink services which run between Three Bridges and Bedford via Redhill will be suspended while this incident is ongoing

  • Thameslink services between Horsham and Peterborough will be calling additionally at Merstham and Coulsdon South

We had a report of a possible issues with the track in this area. Network Rail's engineers are on route and until they inspect the track, trains are unable to run on this line. Trains in the London bound direction will now run on the alternative route via Redhill.
