Description

A tree blocking the railway between East Grinstead and Hurst Green means all lines are blocked. Trains running between these stations will be cancelled.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

Southern services running between London Victoria and East Grinstead, will instead terminate and re-start from Hurst Green.

Lingfield, Dormans and East Grinstead stations will not be served until further notice. Please push the GREEN button on any station help point if you need assistance or travel information. Staff at the control centre will be able to assist you further.

The 23:06 East Grinstead to London Victoria is cancelled entirely.

At this time, there are no alternative travel options. Your overall journey time may take at least 45 minutes longer than usual.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

A tree has fallen and is blocking both lines just outside of East Grinstead station. Until the tree is removed, trains are unable to run beyond Hurst Green from London.

Network Rail is on site and will need at least 30 minutes to remove the tree with the lines blocked. Once this has been done, we'll provide further details.
