Description

Severe weather across the East Midlands Railway network means trains may be delayed by up to 40 minutes, cancelled or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

How do I get where I need to be?

You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed by 60 minutes.

Intercity alternative travel arrangements:

East Midlands Railway have arranged for you to travel at no extra cost with

  • Avanti West Coast between London Euston, Nuneaton and Tamworth.

  • London Northwestern Railway between London Euston and Tamworth.

You may travel to Doncaster with CrossCountry, TransPennine Express or Northern where you should change for LNER train services to London Kings Cross.

You may travel to Grantham with East Midlands Railway where you should change for a train to London Kings Cross with LNER.

You can travel on Thameslink services in and out of London St Pancras International.

You can travel on London Underground to connect with other train operators.

Liverpool Lime Street - Manchester - Sheffield

You may use your ticket to travel between Liverpool / Manchester and Sheffield.

You can use your East Midlands Railway ticket on TransPennine Express, Northern or CrossCountry services between Sheffield and Liverpool.

Sheffield - Nottingham

You may use your ticket on East Midlands Railway or CrossCountry services between Nottingham and Derby, and Derby and Sheffield.

All of these alternative route options are available in the opposite direction too, and may extend your journey by up to 90 minutes. Don’t worry about your ticket, other train operators know about the disruption to your journey and your ticket can be used at no extra cost on their trains.

These arrangements will remain in place until the line re-opens and the train service recovers.

Crewe - Stoke-on-Trent

You may travel between Crewe and Stoke-on-Trent with London Northwestern Railway.

The following replacement buses are to run as follows:

  • The first bus is due to depart Stoke at 15:10 and will call at Longton, Blythe Bridge, Uttoxeter, Tutbury & Hatton and Derby

  • The first bus is due to depart Stoke at 16:00 and will call at Longton, Blythe Bridge, Uttoxeter, Tutbury & Hatton and Derby
