Between Liverpool Lime Street and Norwich

Description

There are yellow and amber weather warnings associated with Storm Claudia in place today, Friday 14 November, across parts of England.

The poor weather is expected to cause disruption to services on the Liverpool Lime Street - Norwich route today.

How does this affect my train?

No East Midlands Railway trains will run between Liverpool Lime Street and Sheffield. Instead, most services will start / terminate at Sheffield.

Please note that the last two services between Sheffield and Nottingham today will be cancelled:

  • 21:41 Manchester Piccadilly to Nottingham

  • 21:37 Liverpool Lime Street to Nottingham

How do I get where I need to be?

You are strongly encouraged to check your journey before travel and travel earlier where possible. If you are unable to / decide not to travel today (Friday 14 November), you are permitted to use your ticket to travel tomorrow (Saturday 15 November) at no extra cost with the same ticket.

If you are travelling towards Liverpool from Newark Castle / Nottingham / Derby you may also use alternate East Midlands Railway services to Crewe and change here for an Avanti West Coast train to Liverpool Lime Street.

Additionally, you may use your ticket on Northern and TransPennine Express services between Sheffield and Manchester Piccadilly / Liverpool Lime Street at no extra cost.

Some of the usual ticket restrictions have been relaxed. If you hold an ‘Advance Ticket’ which is usually valid on a specific train, you may use it to travel on any East Midlands Railway train on this route.

If you have an ‘Off Peak’ or ‘Super Off Peak’ ticket, you may use it on board peak time East Midlands Railway trains on this route today.

All of the available alternative route options are available in the opposite direction too.

If you need to start your outward journey from a different operator's station due to this disruption, then you will also be able to travel back to that station when you return, regardless of if the disruption has ended or your ticket type. Rail industry colleagues will welcome you on board with your original ticket.

A normal service is expected to resume from tomorrow, Saturday 15 November.
