Description

The Met Office are advising that heatwave conditions are forecast for parts of England and Wales with temperatures expected to remain high until at least Saturday 27 June.

The hot weather is set to be widespread over England and Wales, and highs of up to 38°C are possible in some areas. There are red and amber weather warnings in place for extreme heat covering parts of England and Wales until Thursday 25 June.

Please see below for the specific advice for the date you're booked to travel as East Midlands Railway have introduced temporary travel easements to support customers.

Tuesday 23 June:

  • East Midlands Railway tickets dated Tuesday 23 June can be used at no extra cost to travel on earlier services on the same day. We recommend that you travel before 12:00 where temperatures are expected to be cooler

  • Alternatively, tickets dated Tuesday 23 June can be used on East Midlands Railway services on Monday 22 June or Friday 26 June

  • If you have connecting services with another operator, please check with them directly as to what their travel advice is

  • If you no longer wish to travel, you can claim a full refund from your point of purchase. More information is available here

Wednesday 24 June:

  • East Midlands Railway tickets dated Wednesday 24 June can be used at no extra cost to travel on earlier services on the same day. We recommend that you travel before 12:00 where temperatures are expected to be cooler
