Description

A person has been hit by a train between Epsom Downs and Sutton. To allow the emergency services to safely carry out their work, all lines between these stations are closed.

Trains running between these stations may be delayed by up to 30 minutes or cancelled.

This is expected to cause disruption until 21:30.

Please be aware that London Overground services between West Croydon / Crystal Palace and New Cross Gate are affected as a result of congestion on the lines.

Customer Advice

No trains can run between Epsom Downs and Sutton until further notice. You will need to use an alternative route to reach your destination. You should allow at least an additional 60 minutes to complete your journey today.

The following stations will not be served by Southern services until further notice:

  • Epsom Downs

  • Banstead

  • Belmont

If you are travelling to or from these stations

You will need to use your ticket on London Buses. This will take up to an additional 30 minutes to complete your journey.

Alternatively from Epsom Downs, you can make your way to Tattenham Corner which takes approximately 30 minutes. From there, there are Southern services towards London.

  • Southern services between Gatwick Airport and London terminals

  • Thameslink services between Sutton and London

  • London Buses between Purley and East Croydon and London

  • London Trams between Wimbledon and East Croydon

  • London Underground between London Terminals
