Between London Bridge and Uckfield
Description
Lines have now reopened following a broken down train at Eridge. However, whilst service recovers, trains running between East Croydon and Uckfield may be delayed 30 minutes or cancelled.
Disruption is expected until 23:00.
Customer advice:
Some Southern services on the Uckfield Line will be disrupted.
The 17:07 London Bridge to Uckfield service had broken down at Eridge earlier this evening.
It has since been moved, but a few trains in this area may be delayed at short notice, and others may be cancelled or unable to complete their full journeys.
Please check a journey planner before heading to the station, and when travelling, listen to announcements and check station screens.
If there is a long wait until the next train, and an alternative route is available, you may wish to use this.
Southern tickets for this route will be accepted at no extra cost on:
Southeastern services between London Bridge, Tonbridge (for services to Edenbridge) and Tunbridge Wells (for bus connections)
Brighton & Hove Buses on Route 29 between Lewes, Uckfield, Crowborough town centre, Eridge and Tunbridge Wells
Southern services between Redhill, Edenbridge (instead of Edenbridge Town) and Tonbridge
Southern and Thameslink services via Redhill and via Haywards Heath
Southern services via Lewes (for bus connections)
Please leave at least 30-45 minutes of extra time if you need to use a different route.
If there is no alternative route available, please speak to staff, if available, or use the green Emergency button on the station Help Point for advice.
Replacement buses:
The following buses will also operate:
21.30 Uckfield - Buxted - Crowborough
21.56 (approx.) Crowborough - Buxted - Uckfield, to meet the delayed 20.07 London Bridge to Uckfield service which terminates at Crowborough
The bus supplier for both buses will be Knights Prestige Transport Ltd.

You can also view an alternative route guide.
You can also use the Southern app to find up-to-date information.
Can you tell me more about the incident?
The train in question experienced a fault with the system which prevents wheels from slipping, as well as a door fault. Staff have now been able to move it and reopen the route, but there have already been some delays and service changes.
