Description

Lines have now reopened following a fire next to the track between Gatwick Airport and Purley. However, whilst service recovers, trains running between these stations may be delayed by up to 15 minutes.

Disruption is expected until 08:45.

Customer advice:

If you are travelling between Gatwick Airport and Purley you can travel on your normal route, but services may still be disrupted.

You will need to allow at least an additional 10 minutes to complete your journey.

There was a fire near the tracks in the Gatwick area.

The fire has now been put out, and work is being done to restore service to the booked timetable.
