Description

Lines have reopened following a broken down train earlier today at Gidea Park. Whilst service recovers, trains between Romford and Shenfield may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 12:45.

• From Ilford / Maryland / Forest Gate: 25, 86 → Stratford or Central London corridors

• From Romford: 86 → Stratford; then continue your journey by bus to Holborn, Bank, or the West End

The 06:30 Norwich to Liverpool Street service has come to a stand at Gidea Park with a fault that could not be rectified by the train crew.

The fleet team have been advised and fitters are on route to the train.

In reaction, one of the routes towards London is blocked until the faulty train can be moved.

This in turn may cause congestion leading to severe delays, alterations and cancellations.

Service impact:

Train services may be severely delayed, altered or cancelled at short notice to ease congestion on the remaining line towards London Liverpool Street.

• Travel on the East Midlands Railway train towards Liverpool Lime Street. Change at Ely for the first available service to Cambridge or Stansted Airport for services into London Liverpool Street

Travelling from London to Norwich (approximate journey time up to 3 hours):

• Travel on the Stansted Express from London Liverpool Street to Stansted Airport and change there for services to Norwich

• Travel on Greater Anglia trains to Cambridge and change there for the first available train to Ely. Change again at Ely for the first available train to Norwich
