Description

A person has been hit by a train between Stratford (London) and Shenfield. So that the emergency services can safely carry out their work, all lines have been closed.

Services running between these stations will be cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes or revised.

This is expected until the end of the day.

Elizabeth line customer advice:

Elizabeth line services will not call at stations between Stratford and Shenfield.

Passengers will need to seek alternative routes to complete journeys this evening.

  • c2c services between London Fenchurch Street and Upminster

  • Greater Anglia services between London Liverpool Street and Shenfield (also subject to disruption)

  • London Buses between:

    • London Paddington and Abbey Wood

    • Brentwood and Whitechapel

  • London Overground (Liberty line) services between Romford and Upminster

  • London Underground services via any reasonable route

Please allow for short notice alterations and platform changes and listen to Elizabeth line station announcements or ask a member of staff for further information.

Alternative bus routes:

East London (Stratford → Shenfield branch)

Tip: Travel towards Stratford — a major transport hub with frequent buses into Central London.

  • From Stratford: 8, 25, 86, 104, 241, 308 → Central London and local connections

  • From Ilford / Maryland / Forest Gate: 25, 86 → Stratford or Central London corridors

  • From Romford: 86 → Stratford; then continue your journey by bus to Holborn, Bank, or the West End

West:

  • From Ealing Broadway: 207, 427 → Paddington corridor

  • From Southall / Hayes & Harlington / West Drayton: 140 → Ealing Broadway or Heathrow

  • Continue to Central London via connecting buses or the Underground

Heathrow terminals:

  • Local buses: 111, 105, 140, 285, 423 → local destinations

  • SL7: Orbital route across London

  • c2c services between London Liverpool Street / Fenchurch Street, West Ham and Southend Central

  • London Underground:

    • Circle line between Liverpool Street and Tower Hill (for Fenchurch Street)

    • Jubilee line between Stratford and West Ham


Advance purchase tickets holders will be allowed to travel on earlier or later trains if their booked service is cancelled.

INTERCITY

Travelling from Norwich to London (approximate journey time up to 3 hours):

  1. Travel on the Greater Anglia train to Stansted Airport and change there for Stansted Express services to London Liverpool Street

  2. Travel on the Greater Anglia train to Cambridge and change there for services to London Liverpool Street

  3. Travel on the East Midlands Railway train towards Liverpool Lime Street. Change at Ely for the first available service to Cambridge or Stansted Airport for services into London Liverpool Street

Travelling from London to Norwich (approximate journey time up to 3 hours)

  1. Travel on the Stansted Express from London Liverpool Street to Stansted Airport and change there for services to Norwich.

  2. Travel on Greater Anglia trains to Cambridge and change there for the first available train to Ely. Change again at Ely for the first available train to Norwich.

IPSWICH

Travelling from Ipswich to London (approximate journey time up to 3 hours)

  1. Travel on the Greater Anglia train from Ipswich and Stowmarket to Cambridge and change there for services to London Liverpool Street.

Travelling from London to Ipswich (approximate journey time up to 3 hours)

  1. Travel on the Greater Anglia train from London Liverpool Street to Cambridge and change there for services to Ipswich.

There will be no replacement buses between Stratford and Shenfield.
