No trains through Gloucester until the end of the day

Description

Overrunning engineering works at Gloucester means all lines are closed. As a result, trains are unable to run through this station and will be cancelled or revised.

This is expected until the end of the day.

CrossCountry customer advice:

Trains will not run between Cheltenham Spa and Gloucester. Services across the country will terminate or start their journeys at Cheltenham Spa or Birmingham New Street.

Additional train shuttles will run between Bristol Parkway and Plymouth.

Rail replacement buses are running between Cheltenham Spa and Bristol Parkway to help with your journey.

Customers with tickets dated Monday 6 October wishing to travel to Cheltenham Spa or travelling through Cheltenham Spa to get to Bristol / Cardiff Central and other locations, may use their ticket to travel free of charge either on Tuesday 7 October or Wednesday 8 October.

The following amendments are in place:

• Services between Cheltenham Spa / Gloucester and London Paddington will run between Kemble and London Paddington only

• Services between Worcester / Gloucester and Westbury / Bristol Temple Meads will run between Westbury / Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway only

Replacement road transport is in place between:

• Worcester Shrub Hill and Gloucester, calling at Worcestershire Parkway, Ashurch for Tewkesbury, and Cheltenham Spa

• Gloucester and Kemble, calling at Stonehouse and Stroud

• Gloucester and Bristol Parkway, calling at Cam & Dursley and Yate

Please note, in order for these replacement buses to operate, reduced parking is available at Gloucester. The car park at Cheltenham Spa is closed.

To further assist you with your journey, you can use your ticket on the following Stagecoach Buses, at no extra cost:

• Route 51: Swindon bus station - Cheltenham Promenade

• Route 94/94X: Gloucester - Cheltenham

• Route 10: Gloucester - Cheltenham

• Route 62: Gloucester - Stroud - Stonehouse

• Route 63: Gloucester - Stroud

• Route 64: Gloucester - Stonehouse - Stroud

• Route 65: Gloucester - Stonehouse - Cam - Dursley - Stroud

• Route 66: Cheltenham - Stroud

You can also use First Bus Bristol on the following routes at no extra cost:

• Y1: Bristol City Centre - Yate, Hardwicke

• Y2: Bristol City Centre - Leechpool Way

• Y6: Bristol City Centre - Southmead Hospital

• 74: Hengrove Bus Depot - Bradley Stoke, Great Park Road

Additional information:

Since Sunday 27 September, Network Rail have been undertaking repairs to the signalling system in the Gloucester area. This work was due to be completed yesterday, on Sunday 5 October, but is taking longer than planned. Whilst the new equipment is tested today, a revised, emergency timetable is in place with no trains able to run through the Gloucester area today.
