Description

Lines have reopened following an earlier trespass incident on the railway between Gloucester and Bristol Parkway.

As services return to normal, trains running through these stations may continue to be cancelled or delayed by up to 30 minutes.

Disruption is expected until 14:45.

CrossCountry customer advice:

If your train is cancelled, your ticket can be used at no extra cost on the two CrossCountry services operating before and after your cancelled service.

Your ticket can also be used, at no extra cost, on:

  • Great Western Railway services between Newport and Bristol Temple Meads in both directions

  • Transport for Wales services between Cheltenham Spa and Newport in both directions

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.

Unfortunately, any seat reservations will not be carried over to another train, but Coach B, H and L are the unreserved coaches on CrossCountry services (where available) so please head to them.

Great Western Railway customer advice:

If your train is cancelled, you may travel on either of the two services before, or two services after, your original train. If these are peak services or less flexible, you can still travel with your original ticket, at no extra cost.

Check before you travel:

You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.

Compensation:

You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
