Description

Following a fault on a train at Grateley all lines have reopened. As service recovers, trains running between Salisbury and Basingstoke may still be delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 13:00.

Customer advice:

After the train crew have been in contact with the fleet maintenance team and the fault being rectified, all lines have now reopened and trains can run through the area again.

Whilst the train service returns to normal, there may be delays and short notice alterations in order to minimise disruption.

In order to help you complete your journey at no extra cost to yourself, ticket acceptance is in place on the following local buses:

  • Salisbury Reds route 26 between Salisbury and Tisbury

  • Salisbury Reds / Stagecoach route Activ8 between Salisbury and Andover


Due to the level of disruption experienced in the area, passengers have the authority to book their own taxi's between Salisbury and Basingstoke and claim back the fare spent. In order to claim a refund, you will need the following:

  • Full contact details

  • The time and date of your journey

  • The stations you travelled to/from

  • A description of the series of events that took place

  • Copies of both your train ticket(s) and taxi receipt
