Various routes across the Gatwick Express, Southern and Thameslink networks

Description

There are multiple incidents ongoing on various routes across the Gatwick Express, Southern and Thameslink networks.

As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes or revised.

This is expected until 20:00.

Customer advice:

Services across the Southern, Thameslink, and Gatwick Express networks are subject to significant disruption due to a number of incidents today. These include the below:

  • The emergency services dealing with an incident at Denmark Hill

  • The emergency services dealing with an incident at New Cross Gate

  • A broken down train at London Bridge

  • A fault with the signalling system between Clapham Junction and Shepherds Bush

  • A fault with the signalling system at Slade Green

  • A points failure between Horsham and Crawley

  • A fire next to the track between Hastings and Eastbourne

  • A fault with the signalling system between Haywards Heath and Gatwick Airport

  • A fault with the signalling system at Ford

  • The emergency services dealing with an incident at Chichester

You can use your ticket on the below at no additional cost:

  • Alternative Southern services via East Croydon or Peckham Rye

  • Alternative Thameslink services via London Bridge

  • Gatwick Express services between London Victoria, Gatwick Airport, and Brighton

  • Southeastern services between London, Dartford, and Rainham

  • Metrobus routes as follows:

    • 3 and 200 between Horsham, Crawley, Three Bridges, and Gatwick Airport

    • 100 between Redhill, Gatwick Airport, and Three Bridges

  • Stagecoach routes as follows:

    • 99 between Hastings and Eastbourne

    • 701 between Lancing, Worthing, Angerming, and Littlehampton

Disruption in the Southern region:

Services which usually run between Eastbourne, Hastings, and Ashford are currently unable to run. This is due to a fire next to the track. Your ticket will be accepted at no additional cost on Stagecoach 99 between Hastings and Eastbourne. Rail replacement buses have been requested to run between these stations.

Services are unable to run to / from Littlehampton, due to a fault with the signalling system at Ford. Further updates regarding alternative travel will be posted on this page.

Services running from Haywards Heath towards Gatwick Airport and London are being delayed by around 10 minutes due to a fault with the signalling system through this area.

Disruption in the London region:

A number of incidents in the London area has led to delays, alterations, and cancellations to both Southern and Thameslink services that run through south London. This has also significantly affected services between London, Gatwick Airport, and Brighton.

Travel advice:

Unless your journey is essential, you should look to delay your journey until later.

If you're travelling now, you should leave at least 45 minutes extra to complete your journey. You should listen to announcements and check station screens for the latest information.
