Description

There are yellow and amber weather warnings associated with Storm Claudia in place today, Friday 14 November, across parts of England.

The poor weather is expected to cause disruption to services running on various routes across Great Western Railway's network. Please check your entire journey in full before you travel.

It is advised that you do not attempt to travel on the following routes:

  • Between London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads

  • Between London Paddington and South Wales

  • Between Hereford and Worcester Shrub Hill

Trains are also affected by flooding between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple resulting in road transport replacing trains.

Tickets dated for travel today, up to and including Sunday 16 November at no extra cost.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Disruption is affecting the following routes:

Between Swindon and Bristol Parkway

Flooding has been reported on the line between in the Swindon area. As a result, all lines are closed. Services between London Paddington and Wales will be cancelled. Great Western Railway are unable to source any meaningful replacement road transport and cannot guarantee to be able to get you to your destination today. If you are able to make alternative travel arrangements we strong suggest you do so.

In the Bath Spa area

Flooding has also been reported on the line between Chippenham and Bath Spa. As a result, the line is closed.

Trains on the following routes may be cancelled, revised, diverted or delayed by up to 30 minutes:

  • Between Swindon and Bath Spa / Bristol Temple Meads

  • Between Swindon and Westbury

  • Between Bristol Temple Meads / Bath Spa and Westbury

Great Western Railway have requested rail replacement transport. More details will follow once this has been confirmed.

Between Gloucester and Bristol Parkway

Additionally, flooding has been reported between Gloucester and Bristol Parkway. Services between these stations may be cancelled.

Between Liskeard and Looe

Service is suspended between Liskeard and Looe. Rail replacement transport, in the form of taxis, has been requested to run.
