Description

A road vehicle blocking the railway at Ham Street means that all lines are blocked. As a result, trains are unable to run between Rye and Ashford International and will be revised.

This is expected until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

Services are unable to run between Rye and Ashford International until further notice.

Please avoid travelling on this route at this time as it is likely you will face significant delays of up to 45 minutes whilst this situation is ongoing.

No services will be stopping at Appledore or Ham Street. Please check the station boards or speak to station staff for further advice at these stations.

If you are currently travelling you will need to change at Rye and use an alternative method to reach your destination. If you require assistance please speak to station staff.

Ticket Acceptance:

You can use your existing ticket at no additional cost on the below services:

  • Southern and Thameslink on any reasonable route

  • Southeastern services between Hastings / Ashford International and London

  • Stagecoach Buses 511, 511a and 511b between Ham Street and Ashford International

Replacement buses:

Southern have arranged some replacement buses that you may be able to use to reach your destination. These buses will run on the following routes:

  • Rye to Ashford International calling at Appledore, Ham Street before terminating at Ashford International

  • Ashford International to Rye calling at Ham Street, Appledore before terminating at Rye


Where possible, schedules for these buses will be shown on journey planners, so you can see the next services from your station. If not, they'll be under the control of our local station teams. These services are expected to run from 18:00 until end of service.
