Description

A broken down freight train at Hatfield Peverel means the line towards Witham and Colchester is blocked.

Trains are able to run through the area on the other line, but as a result, trains running between Shenfield and Colchester may be delayed by up to 40 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected to continue until 14:00.

Customer advice:

A freight train has developed a fault and is at a stand at Hatfield Peverel.

The freight train will need to be rescued. A rescue locomotive will be sent to attach and move the train to clear the line.

Services will be disrupted and delayed through the station.

Services in both directions are currently using the line towards London, causing delays.
