Description

A safety inspection of the track between Haywards Heath and Brighton means that the line toward Brighton is blocked. As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 10:15.

Customer advice:

No trains can run from Haywards Heath towards Brighton until further notice. You will need to use an alternative route to reach your destination. You should allow at least an additional 45 minutes to complete your journey today.

Services between Brighton and Gatwick Airport will be significantly delayed until further notice.

Please talk to station staff, look at the information boards or check your journey planner for the most recent information.

How is the service being changed?

While this disruption is ongoing, the following changes will be made to services:

  • Trains that normally run between Victoria and Littlehampton will run non stop between Gatwick Airport and Littlehampton

  • Trains that normally run between Cambridge to Brighton will terminate at either Haywards Heath, Three Bridges or Gatwick Airport. They will then restart their return journey

  • Trains that normally run between Bedford to Brighton will terminate at either Haywards Heath, Three Bridges or Gatwick Airport. They will then restart their return journey

  • Gatwick Express services will terminate at Gatwick Airport and restart their return journey to Victoria

  • Trains that normally run between London Victoria and Ore / Eastbourne will now be calling additionally at Three Bridges

How to I get to Brighton from London?

If you are travelling to Brighton from London then you will need to change service at Haywards Heath. From there you can catch a Southern service towards Eastbourne / Ore changing at Lewes for an onward service to Brighton

How do I get to stations to stations between Hove and Angmering from London?

If you are travelling to any stations between Hove and Angmering from London then you should change at Gatwick Airport. From there you will need to catch a southern service towards Bognor Regis or Portsmouth Harbour and change at Barnham. From there you can catch a Southern service towards Brighton.
