between Sheffield and Stockport

Description

A tree on the railway in the New Mills area means the lines towards Stockport are blocked. Trains running between Sheffield and Stockport may be revised, delayed by up to 30 minutes or diverted.

Disruption is expected until 22:00.

East Midlands Railway customer advice:

Network Rail will be sending a team to investigate further they are due to arrive at 21:00.

Trains running through the area in the Sheffield to Stockport direction will not be able to run between Sheffield and Manchester unless they are able to take a diversionary route (adding no extra time the the journey unless you are travelling to / from Stockport). The diversionary route available would mean that our trains are unable to call at Stockport.

Trains running through the area in opposite are directly unaffected however delays and alterations may apply as a result of train crew and trains being out of their usual position.

How do I get where I need to be?

You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed by up to 30 minutes. We are sorry for the delay to your journey today.
