Between Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport

Description

A broken rail at Heaton Chapel means that some lines are disrupted. As a result, trains running between Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport may be delayed, cancelled or revised.

Disruption is expected until 16:00.

Avanti West Coast customer advice:

If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.

East Midlands Railway customer advice:

Trains running through the area may divert around the broken rail if possible and this would mean that the train would be unable to call at Stockport.

East Midlands Railway do not expect many trains to be able to follow the diversionary route and therefore otherwise trains may be delayed due to diverting onto a different railway line.

This will result in trains being delayed by 5-10 minutes the Liverpool Lime Street direction.

Your ticket will be accepted at no extra cost on:

  • Northern services between Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport

Northern customer advice:

Northern tickets may be used at no additional costs on board any alternative Northern, TransPennine Express or LNER service via any reasonable route.

TransPennine Express customer service:

Altered services will no longer call at Stockport.

If you require Stockport, please alight at Manchester Piccadilly and you can use your ticket at no extra cost on the next available Northern or TransPennine Express service towards Stockport.

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on:

  • Alternate Northern services to Manchester Piccadilly

  • Alternate TransPennine Express services towards Cleethorpes

  • Alternate East Midlands Railway services towards Sheffield
