Between Moorgate / London Kings Cross and Hertford North, and also between Moorgate / London Kings Cross and Stevenage

Description

A person has been hit by a train between Hertford North and Alexandra Palace. Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage via Hertford North are closed. Trains may be cancelled or revised.

This is expected until 10:00.

Customer advice:

Due to a person being hit by a train in the Hertford North area, you are strongly advised to delay travel until later today.

If you choose to travel now, will need to use an alternative route and should allow at least 60 minutes additional time to complete your journey.

Services that usually run between Moorgate and Stevenage via Hertford North are currently suspended.

Services that usually run between London Kings Cross and Cambridge via Welwyn Garden City may be subject to delays of up to 15 minutes.

Ticket acceptance:

You may use your ticket at no extras cost on the following;

  • Alternative Thameslink and Great Northern services between London Kings Cross and Peterborough / Cambridge

  • Greater Anglia services between London Liverpool Street and Hertford East

  • London Underground on reasonable alternative routes between London Terminals

  • London Overground between Enfield Town and Liverpool Street

  • London Buses on reasonable alternative routes between London Terminals

  • Bayford

  • Cuffley

  • Crews Hill

  • Gordon Hill

  • Enfield Chase

  • Grange Park

  • Winchmore Hill

  • Palmers Green

  • Bowes Park

Please do not travel on this route. Great Northern experiencing severe disruption and can't guarantee you can get to your destination at the moment.

Replacement buses:

Great Northern have been able to resource some replacement buses, so you may be able to use these to get to your destination.

They are currently obtaining an estimated time of arrival for these buses. We will update once this has been confirmed.

They are then due to operate on the following routes:

  • x2 buses from Hertford North to run south towards Alexandra Palace or Cockfosters

  • x1 bus from Hertford North to run north towards Stevenage

  • x2 buses from Alexandra Palace to run north towards Hertford North

The bus supplier will be ALM.
