Description

There are emergency engineering works taking place overnight tonight to a level crossing at Hitchin that requires repairs.

From approximately 01:00 until 03:00, trains will be unable to run through this station, and will either be cancelled in full or revised.

Customer advice:

Tonight there will be emergency engineering works due to a level crossing which needs repairing.

This means that no services will able to travel through Hitchin after 01:00, on Wednesday 1 July.

Please talk to station staff, look at the information boards or check your journey planner for the most recent information.

When are the last trains expected to run?

From London St Pancras International to Peterbourough the last train is departing at 23:45.

From London Kings Cross to Cambridge the last train is departing at 00:01.

From London Kings Cross to Letchworth Garden City the last train is departing at 00:07.

Engineering works are taking place in the Hitchin area to repair a crossing that is damaged.

Network Rail are responsible for railway engineering works. These are designed to maintain and improve the infrastructure, and this can include the track itself, the signals or the points at junctions.
