Description

A landslip in the Holmwood area means from 21:00 all lines will be closed whilst repair works are carried out. Trains running between Dorking and Horsham will be revised to not run between these stations or cancelled.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

Southern services on the route between London Victoria and Horsham via Dorking will be disrupted tonight. Emergency repairs are required to a landslip near Holmwood.

After 21:00, buses will replace trains on the section of the route between Dorking, Holmwood, Ockley, Warnham and Horsham.

Southern are waiting to confirm full details with the bus suppliers, and they will then show the bus times on the online journey planning tools.

Bus journeys will take longer than the comparable train journeys, so please leave at least 20-30 minutes of extra time.

Rail replacement buses:

Southern have arranged some replacement buses that you may be able to use to reach your destination. These buses will replace trains on the following routes:

• 21.14 Horsham to Dorking

• 20.50 Dorking to Horsham

• 21.46 Leatherhead to Horsham

• 22.50 Dorking to Horsham

• 23.46 Leatherhead to Dorking

• 00.36 Dorking to Horsham

Where possible, schedules for these buses will be shown on the journey planners, so you can see the next services from your station. If not, they'll be under the control of local station teams.

The bus suppliers will be Chaseside and South East Omnibus.

There was a landslip last night in the Holmwood area. Network Rail staff have attended and confirmed that although Southern have been able to run services during the day, repairs are needed tonight. Buses have been requested to cover the changes to the train service.
