Description

A broken rail between Three Bridges and Horsham means that all lines are closed. As a result, trains running between these stations may be delayed by up to 45 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 19:00.

How is the service being changed?

While this disruption is ongoing, the following changes to services will take place:

  • Thameslink trains that usually run between Horsham and Peterborough will now terminate and restart at Three Bridges

  • Thameslink trains that usually run between Bedford to Three Bridges via Redhill will now terminate and restart at Gatwick Airport

  • Southern trains that usually run between London and Portsmouth Harbour / Bognor Regis will now run non stop between Three Bridges and Ford

  • Some Southern services that run between Bognor Regis and London Victoria will now call additionally at Faygate



The following stations will not be served by services until further notice:

  • Crawley

  • Ifield

  • Faygate

  • Littlehaven


How do I travel to Crawley station?

You can use Metrobus route 3 between Crawley and Three Bridges.

Please be aware this will add an additional 20 minutes to your journey

How do I travel From Horsham to Three Bridges?

You should use Metrobus 200 between Horsham and Gatwick Airport. Then from Gatwick Airport you can transfer onto a Southern or Thameslink service to Three Bridges.

Please be aware this will add at least 45 minutes to your journey

Catching a flight?

If you are travelling to Gatwick Airport, please allow at least an extra 90 minutes for your journey to ensure you make your flight connections.

  • Southern services between Horsham, East Croydon, Sutton and London Victoria

  • Thameslink services between Horsham and London Bridge

  • Metrobus routes:

    • 3 between Bewbush, Crawley, Three Bridges, Gatwick Airport

    • 200 between Horsham, Littlehaven, Faygate (Town), Bewbush, Ifield, Gatwick Airport

Can you tell me more about the incident?

Train operators have had report of a kink in the rail on the line between Three Bridges and Horsham. This route is closed because of this defect.

When a track defect is identified, the line will be examined by the proceeding trains to make sure that trains are still able to run. If for any reason the rail is defective, the line will be closed and techs will attend to make repairs as soon as possible.
