Between London Victoria and Littlehampton, and also between Brighton and West Worthing / Chichester / Portsmouth & Southsea / Southampton Central

Description

The emergency services have completed their work following an earlier incident where a person was hit by a train. This has allowed all lines between Hove and Worthing to reopen. Whilst service recovers, trains may still be delayed by up to 60 minutes, revised or cancelled.

Major disruption is expected until the end of the day.

If you've been affected by what happened on the network today, there is always someone to talk to. You can contact the Samaritans on 116 123 from any phone for a confidential chat.

Customer advice:

All lines have now reopened, but there will continue to be some delays, service changes and cancellations on routes which run between these stations. Because lines are now open, there will not be a specific pattern of service changes.

When travelling, please check station screens and listen to announcements. Your journey may still take around 30-45 minutes longer than usual, and you may need to change trains more often than usual.

If there is a long wait until the next train, you may wish to consider using an alternative route, if there is one available in your area.

Routes affected:

The following routes will be affected, in both directions:

  • London Victoria - Littlehampton

  • Brighton - Chichester
