Between Ingatestone and Shenfield
Description
Following a broken down freight train between Ingatestone and Shenfield all lines will be reopened shortly. Train services running through these stations are returning to normal but some services will still be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected until 10:00.
Customer Advice:
A freight train had broken down between Ingatestone and Shenfield and had blocked the line. The train has now been moved.
Routes affected;
Intercity services between Norwich and London Liverpool Street
Ipswich and Harwich Town – London Liverpool Street
Clacton-on-Sea and Walton-on-the-Naze – London Liverpool Street
Colchester Town – London Liverpool Street
Braintree - London Liverpool Street
The freight train is now on the move, the line is now open. Services will begin to return to normal, with some services subject to cancellations, and alterations whilst the service recovers.
To mitigate a queue of trains, some services will be cancelled. Trains that do run will be delayed through this area. Check your train using our Live Departure Boards.

300 between Chelmsford Bus Station and Billericay Rail Station
Southend line trains between Billericay and London Liverpool Street
351 between Chelmsford Bus Station, Ingatestone and Brentwood Rail Station
Elizabeth line between Shenfield, Brentwood and Liverpool Street
Advance purchase tickets holders will be allowed to travel on earlier or later trains if their booked service is cancelled.
