Description
A fault with the station lighting at Lewes means that trains are unable to stop at platform 1 at this station. As a result, some trains will be revised to not call at this station.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Customer advice:
Southern trains running from London Victoria towards Ore and Hastings cannot call at Lewes as the lights have gone out on platform 1 and it is not possible to use an alternative platform.
All other trains running through Lewes, and from Ore and Hastings towards London Victoria can continue to call as normal.
If you were intending to change at Lewes for connections towards Seaford, you should instead alight your train at Haywards Heath and take a service to Brighton. Change here for services towards Seaford. This could extend your journey time by 20-30 minutes so please consider this when planning your journey.
Alternatively, you can travel to Polegate and take a return service - however this will take much longer.
Please check your journey before travelling and allow additional time to reach your destination.
