Description

A failure of electricity supply at Lingfield is causing disruption to journeys through this station. Trains running between East Grinstead and Oxted may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 11:00.

Customer advice:

A fault with the power supply between Lingfield and Hurst Green has been resulting in delays to trains on the East Grinstead line, and is also impacting services on the Uckfield line.

This is currently affected services running in both directions. Some services may be cancelled as a result, or will terminate and restart at a different station to normal instead.

At present, Southern would advise waiting for the line to reopen, although they are unable to provide an estimate for delays at this time.

You may wish to consider using an alternative route. This will add at least an extra 30 minutes to your journey, so please allow plenty of extra time.

Tickets will be accepted for no extra cost on the following:

  • Southern and Thameslink services via any reasonable route, including between Haywards Heath/Three Bridges and London

  • Southeastern services on any reasonable route, including between Tunbridge Wells and London Bridge

The following Metrobus services:

  • 231 for Lingfield (War Memorial), Edenbridge, Penshurst, and Tunbridge Wells

  • 270 between East Grinstead, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Hassocks, and Brighton.

  • 291 between Crawley, Three Bridges, East Grinstead, and Tunbridge Wells – Hourly service

  • 281 between Crawley, Three Bridges, East Grinstead, Dormans, and Lingfield

  • 400 between Caterham, Godstone, Nutfield, Redhill, Earlswood, Salfords, Horley, Gatwick Airport, Crawley, Three Bridges, and East Grinstead

  • 409 between Caterham, Godstone, Lingfield (War memorial), and East Grinstead

  • 410 between Godstone, Hurst Green, Oxted, Nutfield (High Street), and Redhill.

The following Brighton & Hove bus routes

  • Regency 29, 29A, 29B, 29X between Brighton, Lewes, Uckfield, Crowborough, Eridge, and Tunbridge Wells

  • Regency 54 between Eastbourne, Polegate, and Uckfield

The following Compass bus routes:

  • 261 between Uckfield and East Grinstead

  • 31 / 31A / 31B between Uckfield and Haywards Heath

There's an issue with the power supply in the Lingfield/Hurst Green area, affecting some train services. Southern and Thameslink are working with Network Rail and electricity suppliers to fix it as soon as possible.
