Description

A fault with the signalling system in the London Paddington area means that fewer trains are able to run on some lines. As a result, trains running between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport / Reading may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Elizabeth line customer advice:

Passengers travelling from the east are advised to change at Whitechapel for a Heathrow Terminal 4 service. Heathrow Terminal 5 services will terminate short of Heathrow Airport. Free transfers are available between Heathrow Terminals.

Impact on service:

  • Only 4 trains an hour will run west of London Paddington

  • 2 trains an hour will run between Abbey Wood and Reading

  • 2 trains an hour will run between Abbey Wood and Heathrow Terminal 4

  • 2 trains an hour between Abbey Wood and Heathrow Terminal 4 will only run between Abbey Wood and London Paddington

  • Services between Abbey Wood and Maidenhead will only run between Abbey Wood and London Paddington

  • Services between Shenfield and Heathrow Terminal 5 will only run between Shenfield and London Paddington

All other services will run as booked.

  • Chiltern Railways services between London Marylebone and High Wycombe

  • Docklands Light Railway services via any reasonable route

  • Great Western Railway services between London Paddington and Reading

  • Local buses between Hayes & Harlington and Reading

  • London Buses between Paddington and Heathrow Terminals / West Drayton

  • London Underground services via any reasonable route

  • South Western Railway services between London Waterloo and Reading

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following:

  • Chiltern Railways services between London Marylebone and Oxford

  • Elizabeth line services via any reasonable route

If your train is cancelled, you may travel on either of the two services before, or two services after, your original train. If these are peak services or less flexible, you can still travel with your original ticket, at no extra cost.
