Description

There is a fault with the signalling system at London Paddington meaning the line is currently blocked. As a result, services running between Reading / Heathrow Airport and London Paddington may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

Disruption is expected until 18:00.

Elizabeth line customer advice:

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following alternative train services:

  • London Underground services via any reasonable route

  • Great Western Railway services between Reading and London Paddington - please be aware that these services are also disrupted

  • South Western Railway services between Reading and London Waterloo

  • Chiltern Railways between High Wycombe and London Marylebone

  • Thameslink between Farringdon and Abbey Wood

  • Southeastern between London terminals and Abbey Wood

  • Docklands Light Railway via any reasonable route

Whilst this disruption is ongoing, buses are a simple and direct alternative. You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the below bus operators:

  • London Buses between Heathrow Terminals / West Drayton and London Paddington

To / from Heathrow Airport:

Passengers travelling from the East are advised to change at Whitechapel for a Heathrow Terminal 4 service. Heathrow Terminal 5 services will terminate short of Heathrow Airport. Free transfers are available between Heathrow Terminals.

Customers travelling to Heathrow Airport are advised to use Piccadilly line services from central London.

Great Western Railway customer advice:

Local stopping services between Didcot Parkway and London Paddington will be revised to operate between Didcot Parkway and Reading only in both directions.

Twyford, Maidenhead and Slough will not be served by Great Western Railway services. Passengers to / from these stations should utilise Elizabeth line services instead where Great Western Railway tickets will be accepted at no additional cost. Please be aware that Elizabeth line services are also affected by this disruption.

London Paddington - Oxford - London Paddington services will operate to a reduced frequency. Great Western Railway ticket holders may use CrossCountry services between Reading and Oxford at no additional cost.

Train services between Newbury and London Paddington which call at Thatham and Theale will only operate between Newbury and Reading. Passengers travelling to / from London Paddington will need to change trains at Reading.
