Description
The emergency services have completed their work following an earlier incident where a person was hit by a train. This has allowed all lines between Loughborough and Leicester to reopen. Whilst service recovers, trains may still be delayed by up to 45 minutes, revised or cancelled.
Disruption is expected until 09:00.

Between Birmingham / Nuneaton / Leicester and Peterborough / Cambridge / Stansted Airport via London:
Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway services between Birmingham New Street / Nuneaton and London Euston
East Midlands Railway services between Leicester and London St Pancras International
London Underground services between London Terminals. Please show your ticket to gate line staff to be allowed through the ticket gates

Road Transport:
CrossCountry have requested road transport to run between Leicester and Peterborough. Once in place, you may use these services at no additional cost.
All road transport will be fully accessible. If you are a disabled customer requiring further assistance for your disrupted journey, please speak to railway station staff or use the customer help points if the station is unstaffed.
Other Options:
If your CrossCountry train is cancelled, then you can use your ticket on the two CrossCountry services operating before and the two CrossCountry services after your cancelled service
If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.

How does this affect my train?
Trains running through the area both directions between Loughborough and Leicester can now start to run in both directions however they will be delayed by up to 45 minutes. Some services may be at risk of short notice alterations.
How do I get where I need to be?
You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed by up to 45 minutes.
East Midlands Railway have sourced rail replacement buses at both Leicester and Loughborough which will call at Barrow-upon-Soar, Sileby and Syston. The first departures are at 06:15 and 07:20 in each direction.
They have also sourced rail replacement buses to operate between Leicester and Kettering calling at Market Harborough and these are expected on site at 07:20.

Sheffield
You may travel to Doncaster with CrossCountry, TransPennine Express or Northern where you should change for a train to London Kings Cross. It is likely to take between 2 and 2.5 hours to complete this journey. LNER, who run the trains between Doncaster and London Kings Cross recommend booking a seat reservation. Derby / Chesterfield
You may travel to Birmingham New Street with CrossCountry where you should change for a train to London Euston with London Northwestern Railway or Avanti West Coast. It is likely to take between 2.5 and 3 hours to complete this journey. Nottingham
You may travel to Grantham with EMR where you should change for a train to London Kings Cross. It is likely to take between 2 and 2.5 hours to complete this journey. Leicester
You may travel to Nuneaton with CrossCountry where you should change for a train to London Euston with Avanti or London Northwestern Railway. It is likely to take 2 hours to complete this journey.
